i recently reviewed amy winehouse’s posthumous lioness: hidden treasures for the march/april issue of elmore.
this song is one of the covers on the collection and i haven’t really been able to get it out of my head since.
the recorded version doesn’t even sound like a cover, it sounds like one of her own which was exactly the thing she was best at.
and seriously, just listen to her voice.
it makes me so sad that she’ll never record another song again.
